Scenic Hühnersteign in Sölden is something very special - because we combine genuine hospitality with a cozy atmosphere, both indoors and outdoors. At the heart of the unique mountains of the Ötztal Alps, we pamper our guests with everything their heart could possibly desire. In summer, Hühnersteign makes a perfect destination for hikers, mountaineers and bikers. Enjoy hours of sunshine on our wonderful terrace overlooking the majestic Alpine scenery that seems only a stone’s throw away.

We can be easily reached on walking trails, starting from the middle station of Gaislachkogl Gondola (approx. 45 minutes) or from Hochsölden along the Panorama Trail (approx. 45 minutes). Additionally, the "Ollweit Line" (a trail of the Bike Republic Sölden) leads directly past our mountain hut. You can also easily reach us by car or bus - it's only a three-minute walk from the toll station (Glacier Road).

OLLWEITE LINE (6010)
Shaped line with challenging stages leading to Hühnersteign
New, 7 km long line leading from the mountain station of Langeggbahn down to Hühnersteign. The start of the OLLWEITE LINE is a little below Rotkogljochhütte in a left-hand bend. At the beginning it is fairly meandering, at the height of the water reservoir there is slightly blocked terrain until you get to the ski run. After crossing the ski slope, the line is initially rather flat, but then quite challenging towards the valley. In its central part, the line leads over a long, blocked stone field. Then it continues turn after turn down into the valley. After crossing the RETTENBACHALM TRAIL (675) it is flat and wide again at first, but then it has also challenging sections down to Hühnersteign – a perfect rest stop with large sun terrace for all bikers. After a break, you can continue your adventure along a short section on the ski slope, which will take you directly to the OHN LINE (6007).

Safety note: A narrow trail branching off from the OLLWEITE LINE just above Hühnersteign, must be avoided by bikers as it is only used by hikers.

It gets elementary thanks to Water Time at Hühnersteign: While the parents are enjoying Tirolean specialties or treading water during a Kneipp therapy, the children spray water fountains into the air with really large water pistols operated by hand pumps. It also gets exciting when it comes the fun-packed shooting competition with huge target. Who is better, dad or boy, mom or girl? Winter Time
Refreshment stop directly on the glacier road and on the slopes
Get on the boards, enjoy superb powder snow and afterwards or in between, head for the Hühnersteign - this is the perfect winter day in Sölden. Warm up with a cup of spicy mulled wine or enjoy a hearty “Marend” snack before heading back to the slopes after a schnapps! Or you just stay ... because there are more than enough reasons for that.
